FKKSA successfully sent five students abroad to join the student exchange program at the Chemical Engineering Department of Faculty of Industrial Technology, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in Surabaya, Indonesia. The students, Muhammad Syakir Bin Muhammad Salleh, Norfarahin Binti Hamzah, Nur Syazaarina Binti Ahmad, Khairunnisa Binti Kamarul Arifin and Fatin Fatihah Binti Emran, are undertaking the undergraduate studies for one semester starting from 26 August to 7 January 2018.
According to program coordinator, Associates Professor Dr. Fatmawati Adam, this program was held aiming to strengthen the international academic collaboration between UMP and ITS and to provide opportunities for FKKSA students to engage with the ITS classroom and campus activities. ITS was chosen because it is among the best universities in Indonesia in science and technology since its establishment in 1954.
“There were many activities held and organized by the International Office of ITS and one of them was a volunteering activity where each of us was responsible to teach English for the elementary and high school students. We had the most amazing time at Cultural Camp where we spent 3 days at the Rowo Trate Village, East Java Indonesia. Each of us was given a family to stay with throughout the camp” Syakir said happily.
