Mobility Program: Student's Academic Visit to National University of Singapore (NUS)
On 5th-6th of April 2017, 26 students and 3 lecturers from Faculty of Chemical and Natural Resources (FKKSA), University Malaysia Pahang (UMP) participated in an academic mobility program to the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (ChBE), National University of Singapore (NUS). The program were initiated under student mobility coordinator in FKKSA and co-organized by Chemical Engineering Society (CHEST), Faculty of Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering (FKKSA).
This mobility program is an alternative to build a good international relationship between UMP and NUS institutions. NUS is the 8th top University in the world and ChBE is the 5th of the Top Chemical Engineering Education Program in the world rank. During the program, both of UMP and NUS students presented their Final Year Projects outputs as part of knowledge sharing on the research technology developed at both institutions. UMP students confidently presented their projects and had great discussion with NUS students. UMP students also would benchmark themselves to develop, build and increase their confident, innovation and creativity through the Final Year Project presentation. The students also had the oppurtunity to visit the teaching laboratories and facilities such as Chemical Engineering Reaction, Unit Operation, Process Control Dynamic and Fluid Mechanic lead by Prof. G. P. Rangaiah and the NUS staffs.
Overall, the objective of this educational visit was achieved where students had good exposure to the new technologies in chemical engineering and build good relationship with NUS students. The program were funded and supported by the Students Affairs & Alumni Department and CHEST FKKSA, Universiti MalaysiaPahang.
