Mobility Program: Student's Academic Visit to National University of Singapore (NUS)
On 5th-6th of April 2017, A total of twenty-six students and three lecturers from FKKSA UMP participated in an academic mobility program which involved a visit to the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (ChBE), National University of Singapore (NUS). The program, which was initiated under student mobility program, was supervised by a coordinator in FKKSA and co-organized by Chemical Engineering Society (CHEST) of FKKSA.
This mobility program was aimed at building good relationship between UMP and international institutions such as NUS. NUS is the 8th top University in the world and ChBE is the 5th top Chemical Engineering Education Program in the world ranking. During the mobility program, both UMP and NUS students presented their Final Year Project outputs as part of knowledge sharing on the research technology developed at both institutions. UMP students presented their projects with great confidence and held serious discussion with NUS students. UMP students benefited from the program because they were able to benchmark themselves against some of the world’s top students in developing, building and increasing their level of confidence, innovation and creativity through the Final Year Project presentations. The students also had the opportunity to visit the teaching laboratories and facilities such as Chemical Engineering Reaction, Unit Operation, Process Control Dynamics and Fluid Mechanics led by Professor. G. P. Rangaiah and the NUS members of staff.
Overall, the objective of this educational visit was achieved and students had good exposure to the new technologies in chemical engineering and developed good relationship with NUS students. The program was funded and supported by the Students Affairs & Alumni Department and CHEST FKKSA of Universiti Malaysia Pahang.
