Diploma in Chemical Engineering (Process Plant)

 

The Ministry of Higher Learning has approved the application from KUKTEM (UMP) to offer new programmes in a letter dated March 19th 2002. One of the programmes approved was Diploma in Chemical Engineering (Process Plant) or better known by its acronym DKK. The first intake of DKK consists of around 40 students and enrolled for the 2003/2004 academic session.This 2-years and 9 months programme offers the Diploma in Chemical Engineering (Process Plant) with 90 total credit hours to be taken and completed. This course is not only developed to provide students with the knowledge of chemical engineering but also to expose the students to the human science's area. In enhancing the understanding of chemical engineering principles, experimental activities will be carried out in dedicated chemical engineering laboratories.    

 

 General University requirement;

  • Pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or equivalent with at least C grade for FIVE (5) subjects including Bahasa Melayu
  • At least E grade for History subject (SEJARAH) in SPM

Special Requirement for SPM holder

  • Fulfil University General Requirement
  • At least C grade for
    • Mathematics
    • Additional Mathematics
    • Physics/Chemistry
  • At least C grade in one of the following subjects
    • Information Technology & Communication
    • Physics
    • Chemistry
    • Invention
    • Biology
    • Engineering Technology
    • Mechanical Engineering Studies
    • Electrical & Electronics Engineering Studies
    • Engineering drawing
  • At least E grade in English
  • Candidate must not be physically handicapped whick makes him/her unable to conduct experimental/practical work.                                                               

Special Requirement for certificate holder

  • Fulfil University General Requirement
  • Pass course with certificate or equivalent in relevant field from institute certified by University Senate with at least CGPA of 3.00
  • Candidate must not be physically handicapped which makes him/her unable to conduct experimental/practical work
